The Multi Purpose Building (MPB) is contructed to upgrade services and facilities around Eindhoven Airport. The rolling shape of the MPB, in the heart of Eindhoven Airport, is an iconic multifunctional building. The form is a direct response to the available space but at the same time it fits well with the design language of the terminal and the hotel.
The challenge is to combine an optimally functioning parking space with various services and facilities such as the public transport terminal on the ground floor, Kiss & Ride zones and catering and retail functions on the terminal side. The building has a central function because of its short distance to the airport terminal with an entire car-free environment.
After the finish of the boulevard (early 2020), the MPB is connected with several parking areas such as P3, P4 and P5. Via the promenade the employees of the surrounding business sites and other visitors can reach the airport terminal to make use of the services and facilities.
The MPB has a complex program, designed in an unambiguous but striking building, an important element fitting into the Eindhoven Airport ensemble.
